This wonderfully prehistoric home sets the stage for an imaginative bathroom project for Emperor Bathrooms. With low ceilings, various conservation area restrictions and a large family, this project represents a number of unique challenges.
It’s clear from the beginning whenever you start on your dream project. This beautiful 400 year old farm house was steeped in history, with original beams, generous room proportions and original features in every room was only missing one thing - a bathroom to match.
A wonderful example of classic style matched with true property history. Introducing wall panneling, victorian style units and beautifully detailed basin units was a pleasure and provided a beautiful finish to a wonderful project.
With plenty of space to work with, the client has free reign on the choice of suite and layout. This worked really well and the choices they made really worked well for the space but importantly the rest of the house.
This family bathroom features a wonderful roll-top bath with impressive floor-mounted chrome taps. The double-sized vanity unit was made made by a local and trusted firm so that the materials reflected the same woods and finishes as the original wood throughout the house. The embedded basins, toilet and partnered bidet are all styled to reflect the type of ceramic and style which would originally have been part of the bathroom.
In historical houses like this 400 year old farm house, ceiling height can be troublesome for classic cistern units but in this case, we lowered the height and we think by doing so, it looks great. For a little piece of technology, we introduced a modern electric towel radiator. We truly loved working on this project.
This unique project enabled our team to apply some imagination and use era-specific units to continue the character the owners were extremely proud of. Given the 400 year history, it was a pleasure to match the new bathroom styles with the rich history of the property.
